Connie Jaffrey finishes T3 in Arizona, only 

shot behind joint winners

Former Scottish girls champion Connie Jaffrey from Kilwinning, Ayrshire, a second-year student at Kansas State University, yesterday achieved one of her best results on the US women's college circuit.

Connie, pictured, shot 71, 69 and 72 for a total of four-under-par 212. finishing tied third, only one stroke behind the joint winners, in the Westbrook Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Club, Peoria in Arizona.
Emma Henrickson (San Diego State), from Malmo, Sweden, tied with Brooke Ferrell (Wisconson) on five-under 211. Emma had scores of 69, 73 and 69; Brooke 71-71-69.
Jaffrey was one of five players who shared third place. They included Caroline Inglis (Oregon) who had made most of the running in the 54-hole tournament but slipped down with a third-round 73 after earlier scores of 70 and 69.
Kansas State (861) finished third in the team event behind winners Oregonb (854) and Ohio State (859) in a field of 15 teams.
