LATEST HANDICAP CHANGES - FIND OUT WHAT IS NEW FOR 2018

With the golf season edging ever nearer, our latest newsletter helps bring you up to speed with the recent changes to the CONGU Handicapping System, with guidance to support your Handicap Convenor and sub-committee in their roles.

Key changes include:
New Handicap Categories:
Introduction of Category 5 for Men and Category 6 Handicaps for both Men & Women with maximum handicaps now 54 for all golfers.

Supplementary Scores:
There are now no restrictions on the number of supplementary scores a golfer can submit each year/week. (Restriction on Category 1 players remains)

9-Hole Competitions:
Clubs can now run both 9-hole open competitions and 9-hole stroke-play competitions. (Previously 9-hole competitions could only be run in stableford format)

Handicap Allocation:
When allocating a handicap for the first time, the maximum score per hole will be double the par of the hole.

Scottish Golf's handicapping guru Calum Grant explains a summary of the changes in our short interview  -- CLICK HERE  and you can also find more detailed information on the Handicapping Section of our website.
