CHLOE'S GOOD START IN PORTUGAL

St Andrews girl Chloe Goadby (pictured left) has made an excellent start to the 88th Portuguese women's international amateur 72-hole stroke play golf championship at West Cliffs Golf Club, Obidos, north of Lisbon.

Chloe, one of seven Scots in the field of 70, shot a one-over-par 73 to be joint third overnight, one of four players only a stroke behind joint leaders Romy Meekers (Netherlands) and England's Isobel Wardle.
Anglo-Scot Gemma Batty is joint seventh on 74 with Shannon McWilliam from Aboyne sharing 19th place.
England's rising teenager start Lily May Humphreys, expected to be one of the leading contenders, had a disappointing day at the end of which she was joint 79th in a field of 90 after returning a 14-over-par 86.
