 Lianna, Sophie lose in Spanish quarter-finals

Lianna Bailey and Sophie Lamb, the two English players in the 
 quarter-finals of the Spanish women's amateur championship at Escorpion Golf Club, were both beaten in this morning's semi-finals at the Valencia venue.
Bailey, the 17th qualifier, who knocked out the World No 3 and top seed Maria Parra (Spain) in the second round, lost at the 20th to the No 8 seed, Spain's Marta Perez. 
Lamb, the 27th qualifier, also went down in "extra time." The Clitheroe, Lancashire player lost at the 19th to France's Chloc Salort who qualified No 30 of the 32 who advanced from the 36-hole stroke-play eliminator.
