German wins Azores Ladies Open

Michele slumps from third to 10th on final day

Michele Thomson (Meldtrum House) slumped from a tie for third place after 36 holes to a final placing of T10 after closing with a seven-over-par 79 for 221 in the Azores Ladies Open.
The former Curtis Cup player from Ellon had three birdies in her last round but also a double bogey 7 at the 16th and eight bogeys in halves of 37 and 42.
Winner by two strokes was Germany's Karolin Lampert who had rounds of 71, 70 and 73 for two-under-par 214.
