Michele Thomson tied third in Azores Ladies 

Open, five behind leader Emma Goddard


Michele Thomson (Meldrum House) birdied the 16th and 17th in returning a repeat one-under-par 71 for a 36-hole tally of 142 in the Azores Ladies Open.
Michele is tied third with Victoria Lovelady (Brazil), 75-67, five strokes behind English leader Emma Goddard (69-68 for 137), who is four ahead of second placd Karfolin Lampert (Germany)
Earlier Thomson had a birdie at the fourth and an eagle 3 at the long eighth in reaching the yturn in 34.
She dropped shots at the 14th and 15th before her late brace of birdies.
Jane Turner (West Linton), the only other Scot in the field, missed the cut by seven shots with rounds of 80 and 76 for 156.
