SCOTLAND VETERAN WOMEN'S TEAM

 

KATHLEEN AND FIONA NEW CAPS FOR FORMBY

 

Royal Montrose’s Kathleen Sutherland, winner of the recent North veteran women’s golf championship, and St Andrews hotelier Fiona De Vries (St Rule) are new caps in the Scotland team to compete in the Veteran Ladies Golfing Association inter-area championship at Formby Golf Club from August 1 to 3.

The full squad, under the captaincy of Pat Hutton, is:

Lorna Bennett (Midlands), Liz Campbell (Borders), Fiona De Vries (Midlands), Noreen Fenton (East), Kathleen Sutherland (Northern), Moira Thomson (East), Margaret Tough (Midlands), Pamela Williamson (East).
Reserve: Helen Faulds (West).

”It was not an easy task to select a team as there are lots of talented veteran lady golfers in Scotland. I think this is a blend of the very experienced, the experienced and some new faces,” said Pat.
