NEWS FROM FUTURES TOUR

 

UP AND DOWN SCORING BY

 VIKKI EARNS HER $363

 

Vikki Laing earned $363 for a joint 35th place finish in the Horseshoe Casino Futures Tour Classic over the Lost Marsh golf course at Hammond, Indiana yesterday (Sunday).

The 25-year-old from Musselburgh had her usual pattern of scoring these days – one fair-to-middling, one poor and one quite good – 75, 79 and 73 for an 11-over-par total of 227 over the par-72, 6,245yd course.

It was her first appearance on the Futures Tour for several weeks.

Home-state American Ashley Prange won the $10,500 top prize with scores of 71, 71 and 72 for a two-under-par total of 214. She won by two shots from Lori Atsedes of New York State with 68, 76 and 71 for 215.

Two English players made the top 10. Samantha Head from Bedford earned $3,566 for finishing joint fourth on 218 with 69, 78 and 71.

Lisa Hall from Stoke on Trent tied for seventh place on 219 with 69, 78 and 72 to earn $2,166.
