CLAIRE ONLY SCOT IN SEMI-FINALS OF
ST ANDREWS JUNIOR WOMEN EVENT


Claire McNeil from Milngavie is the only Scottish player in Thursday morning's semi-finals of the St Andrews Links Trust junior women's open scratch match-play tournament over the Old Course.
She will play England international and defending champion Rachel Bell (Ganton).
The second semi-final is between Sophie Walker (Kenwick Park), a former English girls' match-play champio and recent winner of the English close intermediate stroke-play championship, and Faye Sanderson (Heworth).
Wednesday's quarter-final results over the Old Course:
Rachel Bell (Ganton) beat Naomi Edwards (Ganton) 6 and 5.
Claire McNeil (Milngavie) beat Christine Sparks (Mentmore) 4 and 3.
Sophie Walker (Kenwick Park) beat Becky Copland (Scotscraig) 5 and 4.
Faye Sanderson (Heworth) beat Megan Barbour (The Glen) 5 and 4.
The semi-finals are at 6.50 am and 7am over the Old Course with the final teeing off at 1.30pm.
GIRLS' OPEN HANDICAP QUAICH
Wednesday results over the Old Course:
Quarter-finals
Amy Alexander (22) beat Victoria McCulloch (19) 3 and 2.
Fiona Blair (13) beat Hilary Myles (St Leonards) (18) 5 and 3.
Louise Birrell (12) beat Rebecca Hyde (20) 2 holes.
Tanya Horsting (18) beat Alison Tait (13) 3 and 1.
Semi-finals (Alexander v Blair at 7.30am and Birrell v Horsting at 7.40am) will be played over the Old Course on Thursday. The final will tee off at 1.50pm.
