Lalla Aicha Tour School Set for Morocco and Cambodia
The Ladies European Tour will return to Morocco and Cambodia this year as part of an exciting schedule for Lalla Aicha Tour School.
Starting in October and ending in December, there are three Pre-Qualifying Dates offering promising players the opportunity to progress to the Final. PalmGolf Marrakech Ourika will host Pre-Qualifying A and B, while Angkor Golf Resort will host Pre-Qualifying C. PalmGolf Marrakech Ourika in Morocco will host Pre-Qualifying for the first time.
Amelkis Golf Club and Samanah Country Club in Marrakech will again host Final Qualifying over five rounds, with the dramatic final round to be played at Samanah.
Last year, the Ladies European Tour (LET) added Angkor Golf Resort in Cambodia as a venue for the first time and the award-winning par 72, 7,279-yard championship golf course designed by European legend, Sir Nick Faldo, proved a hit with the players, conveniently located five minutes from Siem Reap International Airport and 10 minutes from the famous Angkor Wat temple.
In year one, players from six different countries competed and six players secured their spots at the Final Qualifying Stage in Morocco. It was Yan Liu (China) who led the qualifiers with an impressive total of 268 (-20), which included a new course record 63 (-9) in the third round. Liu then proceeded to qualify for full LET status after another solid performance in Morocco, finishing T-25th at the Final Stage.
PGA Head Professional, Alan Martin, commented: “Last year’s event was a great success for us at Angkor Golf Resort and we are all set to make this year’s event bigger and better. T-Galleria Angkor by DFS have joined us as a main sponsor for this year so with their support we look forward to providing the best possible tour experience for the players.”
