MEHAFFEY AND WEIR LEAD BRITS AT TEMPE, ARIZONA

Two players from Northern Ireland, GB and I international Olivia Mehaffey (Arizona State University) and Chloe Weir (Kansas State University), lead the eight British students in the field of 81 at the Ping/ASU Invitational college tournament over the Karsten course at Tempe, Arizona.
Mehaffey has had steady rounds of 72 and 73 for 145, the same tally as Weir with rounds of 73 and 72. They are bracketed in 15th place, nine shots behind the leader, United States Curtis Cup player Monica Vaughn, an Arizona State team-mate of Olivia's, with rounds of 64 and 72.
Vaughn leads by two from Krystal Quihuis (Arizona) (70-68) and Italy's Roberta Liti (Arizona State) (69-69).
England's Elizabeth Prior (UNLV) (74-72) shares 21st place on 146 with former Scottish girls champion Fiona Liddell (Baylor) who slumped from an opening 69 to a second-round 77.
Former GB and I international Connie Jaffrey from Kilwinning, a student at Kansas State, is on 148 with rounds of 75 and 73 for a T32 position.
Carnoustie's Jess Meek has had rounds of 72 and 77 for 149 and T39.
Emma Allen (Missouri) from Southampton is T54 on 151 with rounds of 76 and 75.
Former Scottish women's champion Clara Young (Missouri) is T63 with scores of 78 and 75 for 153.
