Georgina Blackman from Essex, a third-year student at Western Kentucky University, continued her recent good form with a fifth place finish at the Sprint Break Shootout (March 13-14) at Lake Jovita Country Club, Dade County, Florida.
Georgina had rounds of 73, 70 and 79 for a six-over-par total of 222 over a longish course of 6,325yd. Pity about the last round!
She finished five shots behind the winner, Nichada Satasuk (Southern Mississippi) who had scores of 70, 72 and 75 for one-over 217, winning by two strokes from Katie Williamson (Florida Gulf Coast) (73-74-72 for 219).
Georgia Southern (897) won the team title in a tight finish with joint runners-up Boston College and Southern Mississippi who both totalled 899.
Western Kentucky (909) finished fifth in a field of 13 teams.
