Charlotte improves by leaps and bounds to make top 20 in Dallas

Charlotte Hartshorn from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, a final-year student at Houston Baptist University, improved by leaps and bounds over 54 holes to finish T16 in a field of 87 players at the Spring Break Invite college tournament at Trophy Club, Dallas in Texas (March 13-15).

Charlotte had ever-improving rounds over a par-72 course of 6,180yd of 82, 76 and then a par-matching 72 for a total of 230. Her fourth-round 72 was a season-low for the twice former Warwickshire county champion.

Houston Baptist were the only team to have all five of its players finish in the top 25 but that was not enough for them to win the team title.

That went to Eastern Kentucky (895) ahead of Northern Colorado (906) with Houston Baptist sharing third place with Oral Roberts on 912 in a field of 16 teams.

Co-individual winners were two Eastern Kentucky players, Amanda Lindahl with scores of 76, 72 and 70, Sofie Levin with 69, 77 and 72, also for two-over 218.
