Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) has won the Midlothian women's county championship for the second year in a row.
In a repeat of last year's final, this time at Murrayfield Golf Club, Kate gave a classy display to beat Louise Fraser (Kingsknowe) by 3 and 2 this afternoon, compared with 2 and 1 in the 2015 final.
In the morning semi-finals, Fraser beat the No 2 seed Wendy Nicholson (Baberton) by 3 and 2 while McIntosh won by two holes against Caroline Steedman (Murrayfield) who KOd top seed Alison McBride (Harburn) in the quarter-finals.
In the first semi-final, Steedman was four down at one point but fought back to cut her deficit to one hole. But she was two down again playing the 17th where McIntosh, bunkered off the tee, holed a long putt for a half to end the match.
Louise Fraser was two up at the turn in the other semi-final against Wendy Nicholson who missed a chance at the 11th and was eventually beaten at the 16th.
In the final, Louise Fraser started well by winning the first hole but Kate McIntosh birdied the second.
Fraser had a great run to win the seventh, eighth and ninth and establish a three-hole lead.
McIntosh started her fight back with a winning par at the 10th and also the 11th where her opponent went through the green.
McIntosh narrowly missed a hole in one at the 13th but her birdie 2 levelled the contest.
McIntosh then birdied the next three holes to win by 3 and 2 on the 16th green.

Isobel Halliday (Merchants) won the county's B Championship. She beat Jaci Moriarty (Lochend) by two holes in the final.
