Top seed McBride beaten in round of last eight

Midlothian semi-finals at Murrayfield

Top seed Alison McBride (Harburn) was beaten in the quarter-finals of the Midlothian women's county golf championship at Murrayfield Golf Club today after receiving a bye into the last eight.

Alison was beaten by one hole by home course player Caroline Steedman.

Hannah Scott (Broomieknowe), champion in 2013 and 2014, lost at the 19th in the quarter-finals to Louise Fraser (Kingsknowe).

Defending champion Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) made it through to the semi-finals in which she will play Steedman. The other semi-final will feature Wendy Nicholson (Baberton), the No 2 seed, against Fraser.
