England's Jodi Ewart Shadoff is in a four-way share of the lead after the opening round of the LPGA's Kia Classic in California.
The 28-year-old, from Northallerton in North Yorkshire, shot a 67 at Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad to join Brittany Lang, Ai Miyazato and world No 2 Inbee Park on five under par.
Playing in the second group to set out from the 10th tee, Ewart Shadoff opened with a birdie four and picked up two more shots before a bogey at the hole before the turn.
She began her inward nine with four birdies in five holes but a bogey 5 at the seventh put a second blemish on an impressive card.
Park and Miyazato shot bogey-free rounds, the latter with an eagle at the 10th, while Lang began her round in spectacular style by holing her approach for an eagle two at the first.
Ewart Shadoff's compatriot, Felicity Johnson, and Scotland's Catriona Matthew were both three under, leaving them in a share of eighth place, but Charley Hull could only manage a level-par 72.
