Irish pair joint 13th at end of first day of 

French U21 girls championship

The Irish duo of Annabel Wilson and Julie McCarthy, pictured below), were joint 13th on one-over-par 72 at the end of the first qualifying round of the French Under-21 girls championship at Paris St Cloud.
England's best on the opening day was a 73 from Inci Mehmet who is tied 20th

Another Curtis Cup team place contender, Rochelle Morris. and Ireland's Mairead Martin are joint 27th on 74 - a shot ahead of England's Lianna Bailey whose sister Annabel is T85 with compatriot Sammy Fuller on nine-over 80.
Italy's Lucrezia Colombotto Rossi leads the field by one shot with a four-under-par 67, with Spain's Maria Parra (68) and Ana Pelaez (69) filling the second and third places overnight.
Scotland does not have any representatives in the field of 120
