DAYTONA BEACH, Florida -- After shooting one-over in back-to-back rounds at the LPGA International Hills Course, senior Anna Kim finished eight strokes better than runner-up, Annie Lee, to claim her third-career medal at the  2016 Lonnie Barton Invitational.
Behind top-10 finishes from Kim, freshman Kirsty Beckwith (pictured above) from Alwoodley, Leeds and junior Saskia Sterud, the Red Storm jumped Siena in the standings, improving its team score by nine shots in the final round to edge the Saints by one stroke and claim second place for the tournament.
St. John's carded a 332-323--655 (+79) to match its best finish of the season.
Tuesday's title cements Kim's name in the St. John's history books, joining Harin Lee as the only golfers in program history with at least three-career medals. The Toronto native registered a 73-73--146 (+2) to pace a field that featured 48 total golfers.
Kim has secured eight top-five finishes in her past 15 tournaments.
Beckwith tied for fourth place to clinch the best finish of her young career. The England native claimed her second top-five showing in three events after carding a 78-79--157 (+13) over two days.
Sterud was six-strokes better than Monday's opening round, sealing her best finish as a Johnnie. The junior from Norway soared five spots in the standings with a total score of 84-78--162 (+18) to claim a ninth place tie.
Albany sustained its lead to capture the overall team medal with a final score of 323-314--637 (+61).
