MacIntyre makes top 10 at Vero  Beach

Scottish amateur champion Robert MacIntyre from the Glencruitten club, Oban, a second-year student at McNeese State University, Louisiana, finished 10th in a field of 75 at his latest US college golf tournament, the Quail Valley Invitational at Vero Beach, Florida.
MacIntyre shot rounds of 70, 68 and 75 for a total of three-under-par 213 - nine strokes behind the winner by two,  freshman Thomas Rosemueller (North Texas) (70-63-71 for 204).
Gareth Lappin from Belfast, a student at Michigan State, finished T11 on 214 with rounds of 72, 69 and 73.
Niall McMullen from Lochgelly, Fife, a team-mate of MacIntyre's at McNeese State, finished T41 on 223 with rounds of 77, 73 and 73.
The effort by Lappin, a former Irish boys' champion, helped Michigan State to tie with North Texas for the team title on 848.
McNeese State (862) finished 6th of 15 teams. The tie-breaker was a comparison of their final round team aggregate - and North Texas had a lower score in that respect than Michigan State so they were awarded the team championship.
