Lappin finishes ahead of Scottish champion 

MacIntyre in Jackrabbit collegiate tournament

Former Irish boys champion Gareth Lappin, a student at Michigan State University, finished T22 in a field of 73 players at The Jackrabbit collegiate tournament at Prairie Club, Nebraska.
Lappin, from Belfast, had deteriorating rounds of 69, 74 and 77 for a total of 220 over the par-71, 7,242yd Dunes course.
He finished 11 shots behind the co-winners on seven-under 209, Aaron Wise (Oregon) (69-69-71) and Claudio Correa (South Florida (72-70-67).
Scottish amateur champion Robert MacIntyre (McNeese State University) from Oban finished T24 on 221 with rounds of 75, 73 and 73.
On the same mark was Euan Walker (Missouri) from Troon. Euan shot 74, 74 and 73.
Two other Scots in the field, both McNeese State freshmen students, Niall McMullen from Lochgelly, finished T47 on 228 while Duncan McNeill from Annan finished T57 on 232.
McMullen had improving rounds of 81, 75 and 72; McNeill 79-77-76.
South Florida (846) won the team title by 19 shots from runners-up Arizona State.
Michigan State (872) finishe 6th, McNeese State (880) 7th and Missouri (887) T8 in a field of 14 teams.
