ELIZABETH SWALLOW FINISHES SECOND AFTER LEADING ROUND ONE

BRITS HELP KING UNIVERSITY WIN 

FIRST TWO-DAY TOURNAMENT

BRISTOL, Tennessee – For the first time in program history, the King University women's golf team was victorious in a two-day tournament. The Tornado won the King University Invitational by 22 strokes with a tournament total of 621 after shooting 316 on the second day. 
Berkshire's Elizabeth Swallow, a member of Newbury and Crookham Golf Club, led four Tornado golfers in the top-10 with a second place finish.
Swallow was tied for the lead after a first-round 72, but followed with a 75 for 147 to finish in second place by two strokes.
Compatriot Samantha Taylor, a sophomore from Newcastle. earned the first top-five finish of her career. Taylor carded a 77 in the first round, and followed it with an 80 in the second round to take fifth at 157.
Scottish freshman Nicola Robertson from Dunblane rounded out the Tornado squad, shooting 89 in the second round to come in with a  total of 174. 
King won the tournament, shooting 621 while Erskine College finished second at 643. The University of Mount Olive took third at 657 and Milligan College finished fourth at 659. The win is King's first since winning the one round Converse Spring Invite in the spring of 2013. It also marks their first win in a two-day tournament.
Erskine's Krysta Schaus was the individual medalist, shooting 145 (72-73) while Swallow took second at 147.
