The Wildcats carded an 8-under par 280 in the first round and a
3-under par 285 in round two. Both were better than the previous 18-hole
team school record of 286 during the third round of the Edwin
Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate on November 5, 2002. K-State finished the
day at 11-under par 565.
"This was a total team effort," K-State head coach Kristi Knight said. "The girls hit the ball pretty well today. They stayed patient and played with confidence."
Scottish freshman Connie Jaffrey's first-round score and senior Carly Ragains'
second-round score of 5-under par 67 tied the second-lowest
individual 18-hole scores in the university's golf history.
They were the lowest by a Wildcat since Michelle Regan also carded a 67 at the Susie Maxwell Classic on April 9, 2006.
