The Briggs sisters from the Kilmacolm club are still on course to meet in the final of the 100th Scottish women's amateur championship at Prestwick on Saturday morning.
In the quarter-finals on a bright but cool morning 21-year-old Curtis Cup debutante and Stirling PE student Eilidh, the No 4 seed, won by 2 and 1 against 19-year-old Lesley Atkins (Gullane), while older sister Megan, 24, the 2009 champion and a Glasgow solicitor, reached the last four with a 2 and 1 win over Rachel Walker (Dumfries and County).
Top seed and last year's Scottish U18 girls champion Connie Jaffrey is still there. The 17-year-old Troon Ladies player will meet Eilidh in the first semi-final after scoring a 2 and 1 come-from-behind win over 18-year-oldLauren Whyte (St Regulus).
Megan Briggs will play St Andrews student Gabrielle MacDonald (Craigielaw), 21,  in the other semi-final.
The latter knocked out the university team-mate and No 2 seed, Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie), 20, by 3 and 2.
QUARTER-FINAL HIGHLIGHTS
Connie Jaffrey v Lauren Whyte.
Jaffrey won the first two holes and after losing the third and fifth she regained a two-hole lead by winning the eighth and 11th.
Whyte won the eighth, 11th and 13th to turn the tables and lead by one on the 14th tee.
Jaffrey birdied the 15th to square the match and then won the next two holes for the match.
Lesley Atkins v Eilidh Brigg
Briggs won the first three holes but lost the fourth and fifth and had to win the ninth to regain a two-hole lead. Briggs went three up with a par at the 15th, lost the 16th but halved the 17th in par for the match.
Megan Briggs v Rachel Walker
Walker was on top on the outward half, winning the first, second, sixth and eighth, losing only the seventh to be three up at the turn.
Briggs put wheels under her comeback by winning the 10th and 11th and then the 13th with a birdie to square the contest.
Megan continued her great run with a birdie at the 15th to lead for the first time and a bogey at the 17th was good enough to see her win by 2 and 1.
Gabrielle MacDonald v Ailsa Summers
Macdonald was four up after six holes, having won the first, second and third - all with birdies - and the sixth with a par.
Summers hit back by winning the eighth, ninth and 10th to be one down at the turn.
MacDonald went two up again by winning the 11th but Summers won the 12th and 13th with birdies to square the match.
MacDonald came again to win the 14th and lead by one. She doubled that advantage with a birdie at the 15th and then won the next with a par for the match.
