KELSEY MACDONALD CHASING FIRST TOP 10 FINISH IN SWSDEN

Kelsey MacDonald is chasing her first top-10 finish as a tour professional in the Kristianstad Women's Open in Sweden.
The Stirling student from Nairn goes into the final round at Ahus, Sweden in joint 10th place after scores of 74 and 76 for 150. She is seven shots behind the leader, Swedish amateur Linn Andersson (68-74).
Krystle (Caithness) Falkner (St Andrews) dropped down to joint 18th position on 151 with a second-round 78.
A few players will complete their second rounds on Saturday morning. The cut to the field for the third and final round will then be made.
As the cut is to the leading 30 players and ties it does not look good for  Pamela Feggans (Doon Valley) and Laura Murray (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre). They are currently in joint 34th place on the 154 mark. Pamela shot 81 and 73, Laura the other way round, 73 and 81.
They will need the scores of those who have still to finish to rise considerably before they can qualify.
Heather MacRae (Gleneagles) had a disappointing pair of 81s for 162, one shot ahead of Carnoustie's Katy McNicoll who came off the boil this week with rounds of 77 and 86 for 163.

Spanish amateur Patricia Sanz Barrio continued her strong form this season with an opening round of 68, four under par in the Kristianstad Ahus Ladies PGA Open in Sweden, to lead by one shot from Swedish amateur Linn Andersson.
Sanz had the better of the conditions on a sunny and windy day, with the wind strengthening during the afternoon. The young Spanish player reached 6 under par after 15 holes but faltered over the closing stretch, dropping shots on her 16th and 18th holes.
Swede Linn Andersson, who represents Barseback Golf Club, also played in the easier conditions of the morning, starting with seven straight pars, before an eagle on the eighth hole took her to 2 under par. Two bogeys and three birdies over the remaining 10 holes put the young Swede in a strong position going into the second round, with a three under par, 69.
Former English girls champion Eleanor Givens, from Darlington, who finished in a tie for sixth place at last week’s Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, continued her good form with an opening 70, 2 under par, to lie in third position.
Ireland’s Danielle McVeigh and Carmen Alonso from Spain both shot 71 to be tied for 4th.
The second round will be completed on Saturday morning from 8am with a cut to the top 30 professionals and ties after 36 holes.
