PAUL LAWRIE NEPHFW SEAN THIRD IN USA


Paul Lawrie's nephew Sean Lawrie, a student at Midland College, Texas, finished joint third  at the weekend in Andrews College Invitational at Andrews, Texas.
Lawrie, pictured right, a member of Portlethen Golf Club, shot rounds of 66 and 72 for a total of four-under-par 138, finishing two shots behind the winner, Jamie Warman (Odessa) (65-71 for 136) with Cody Taylor (Odessa), second (64-73 for 137).

Also joint third was another Midland team player, Andrew Johnston, with a pair of 69s for 138.
Not surprisingly, Odessa (556) won the team title ahead of McLennan (568) with Midland (593) fifth of sixth teams.


SAMMY VASS MAKES TOP 10 IN SOUTH

CAROLINA

Sammy Vass from Tain, a student at Gardner-Webb University, North Carolina, just made the top 20 in the Winthrop University Intercollegiate at Rock Hill County Club, South Carolina.
Sammy, pictured left, finished joint 19th after rounds of 81 and 76 for 157 - 13 shots behind the winner in a field of 47.

And the winner was Yu Xuan Li (Appalachian State) with a pair of par 72s for 144.
Appalachiaan State (592) won the team title ahead of Gardner-Webb (610) in a field of eight teams.


JORDAN McCOLL JT 3RD IN COUGAR INVITATIONAL


Jordan McColl from Dundee, a student at Lander University in South Carolina, finished joint third in the Cougar Invitational college competition at the Country Club of Columbus, Georgia.

Jordan, pictured right, transferred to Lander from New Mexico Junior College since last college season.
He  had rounds of 71, 71 and 72 for a one-over-par total of 214, finishing four shots behind the winner, Jesse Gibson(Columbus State) with three rounds of 70 for three-under 210.
Tim Crouch (Florida Southern) was runner-u on 211 (67-74-70).
Gavin Hay (Carson-Newman College, Tennessee), from Glasgow, finished joint 20th in the same event after rounds of 77, 70 and 74 for 221
Chris McManus (Clayton State University, Atlanta) from Bearsden finished joint 62nd with scores of 79, 77 and 74 for 230.




EWEN DONALDSON MAKES TOP 10 AT SUNSET BEACH, NORTH CAROLINA

Ewen Donaldson (Newberry College, South Carolina) from Edinburgh  finished joint 10th in a field of 79 players at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate at Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
Donaldson had rounds of 70 and 72 for a two-under-par total of 142 - five shots behind the winner. 

Alongside Doaldson on the 142 mark was Jamie Chapman (Lincoln Memorial) from Sussex with scores of 70 and 72.
Thomas Rees (Post University) from Cardiff finished T22 on 144 with scores of 73-71.
Adam Hedges (Belmont Abbey) from Bromley scored 70-75 for 145 and a share of 25th place.
Tom Stephenson (Belmont Abbey) from Bury St Edmunds  came 57th in a field of 79 places with scores of 75 and 77 for 152.
Ross Earnshaw (Post University) from York scored 75-79 for 154 and a share of 60th place.
Daniel Clayton (Barton) was the winner by one stroke with scores of 68-69 for seven-under-par 137.
