BRIGGS SISTERS MEET, TURNER v KENNEY IN OTHER SEMI-FINAL

QUARTER-FINALS

EILIDH BRIGGS (Kilmarcolm) bt KELSEY MacDONALD (Nairn Dunbar) 4 and 3.

Eilidh won the second, third, fifth (with a birdie) and eighth (also with a birdie) to be four up on the ninth tee.
Kelsey scored her first win of the tie with a par at the ninth to be three down at the turn.
Halves followed at the 10th and 11th.
Briggs went four up again by winning the 13th with a par.
MacDonald won the 14th with a par but Eilidh chipped in from off the green for a birdie 2 to win the match at the short 15th.
Briggs, with a bag of four birdies, was an approximate one under par for the holes played. Kelsey was roughly four or five over the card.

MEGAN BRIGGS (Kilmacolm) bt ALYSON McKECHIN (Elderslie) 2 and 1.

Megan won the first (with an eagle 3), the fourth and the sixth (with a birdie) to be three up on the seventh tee.
Alyson birdied the eighth to win it and then halved the ninth to be two down at the turn.
McKechin continued her revival by winning the long 10th with a birdie to cut her deficit to one hole.
After a half at the short 11th, Briggs won the 12th and 13th with pars to go three up. McKechin kept her hopes alive by winning the 15th and 16th with pars to be only one down with two to play.
Megan clincher her place in the semi-finals by winning the 17th with a par for a 2 and 1 victory margin.
Briggs was roughly two over par with one eagle and one birdie on her card. McKechin was an approximate four of five over the card.


 JANE TURNER (Craigielaw) bt SUSAN WOOD (Drumpellier) 1 hole.

Jane won the first and Susan the third. All square on the fifth tee.
Wood won the fifth with a par to go one up but Turner won the seventh with a birdie to square the contest and then went one up at the eighth with a par.
Jane made it three holes won in a row when she took the ninth with a par to be two up at the turn.
Turner won the 10th with a bogey 6 to go three up but a par at the 11th won the hole for Susan to cut her deficit to two holes. Wood made it three winning holes in a row with a par at the 13th to square the match.
The 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th were halved in the tightest of finishes.
Turner won the 18th with a par to make the last four.

 LOUISE KENNEY (Pitreavie) bt RACHAEL WATTON (Mortonhall) 1 hole

Rachael won the first (with a birdie) and the second but Louise got one back at the fourth.
Kenney also won the fifth with a par to square the game.
The sixth and seventh holes were halved in birdies and the eighth and ninth in pars for a square match as they turned for home.
Louise birdied the 12th to lead for the first time, but Watton squared the game again with a par at the 14th.
Kenney edged ahead again with a par at the 16th.
Rachael levelled matters again with a par at the 17th but the No 2 seed went down at the last, won with a par 4 by Louise.
Kenney was an approximate level par for the round, Rachael one or two over.

RACHAEL HANLON (St Regulus) bt FIONA HAY (Deeside) 5 and 4.

AILSA BAIN (Peebles) bt HEATHER MUNRO (Monifieth) 3 and 2.
