SCOTS (7th) QUALIFY TO MEET DUTCHMEN
IN EUROPEAN YOUTHS MATCH-PLAY

Defending champions Scotland qualified seventh behind England in the preliminary 36-hole stroke-play qualifying test to the European youths team golf championship at San Roque 2 on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Welshman Rhys Davies, a student at East Tennessee State University, had rounds of 70 and 67 to tie with Italy’s Lorenzo Gagli on 137 for the honour of heading the individual scoring table.
Lloyd Saltman, in fifth place with scores of 68 and 74 for 142, was the top Scot.
Paul O’Hara was 14th equal on 145 with 75 and 70.
Jordan Findlay and Steven McEwan were joint 25th on 146, Jordan scoring a pair of 73s to Steven’s 75 and 71.
Scott Henry surprisingly could not do better than a share of 55th place on 151 with a 74 and a 77.
Russell Knox from Inverness was further down the table in joint 75th place with 79 and 77.
