IRISH WOMEN'S OPEN STROKE

RECORD NUMBER OF SCOTS IN FIELD FOR

IRISH WOMEN'S OPEN STROKE-PLAY

 

 

A record number of 11 Scots are competing in the Irish women’s open amateur stroke-play golf championship at County Sligo Golf Club this weekend.

They are: Anne Laing (Vale of Leven), Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle), Roseanne Niven (Crieff), Krystle Caithness (St Regulus), Gemma Webster (Hilton Park), Kate O’Sullivan (Paisley), Elaine Cuthill (Lanark), Sara Bishop (Windyhill), Lesley Hendry (Routenburn), Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder) and Emma Fairnie (Dunbar).

They will be bidding to prevent Tara Delaney (Carlow), one of four Irish players selected for the Curtis Cup match on July 29-30, winning the 54-hole stroke-play title for an historic third time in a row.

Meanwhile, in Denmark, Louise Kenney (Pitreavie) and Jenna Wilson (Strathaven) will be representing Scotland in the Danish international women’s amateur championship at Silkeborg Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
