ENGLISH WOMEN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

IT'S SHELLEY v KERRY FOR TITLE

Shelley McKevitt from Reading beat the favourite and fellow Curtis Cup player, Emma Duggleby (Malton & Norton) by 2 and 1 in the semi-finals of the English women's amateur championship at Northamptonshire County Golf Club on Friday afternoon.
Shelley, the British women's open amateur stroke-play champion and also winner of the New Zealand open match-play title at the end of last year, will play Kerry Smith (Waterlooville), also an England international but not selected for the GB&I team for the forthcoming Curtis Cup match against the United States at Formby.
Kerry beat the lesser-known Julie Ross by 2 and 1 in the other semi-final.
