THREE Scots - amateurs Clare Queen and Heather MacRae and professional Lesley Nicholson - figured among the 25 players with scores of 75 and better who went forward from the Weetabix Women's British Open pre-qualifying competition at St Annes Old Links, Lytham.
Clare, Heather and Lesley all returned one-over-par 73s.
They will join the field for the Final Qualifying at Fairhaven on Monday, July 28. Compatriot Vikki Laing from Musselburgh is one of three members of last year's Great Britain & Ireland Curtis Cup team - Sarah Jones and Fame More are the others - who did not have to play in the pre-qualifier but will play at Fairhaven in a bid to get into the field for the Weetabix Women's British Open championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes from July 31 to August 3.
Scots who did not survive the pre-qualifier included Lynn Kenny who had one shot too many with a 76. Scotland team-mate and fellow Stirling University student Lesley Mackay had a 78, one better than Inverness-based New Zealander Liz McKinnon and Aberdonian Claire Hunter.
