SHANNON AND HANNAH SHARE TENTH PLACE IN ARGENTINA

Aboyne's Shannon McWilliam and Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) - pictured left are locked together in joint 10th place at the halfway stage of the 72-hole South American women's amateur golf championship Martindale Country Club, Buenos Aires in Argentina.

McWilliam was up with the leaders after a first-round, four-under-par 68 but she slumped to a 77 on the second day for a 36-hole tally of 145, four behind the joint leaders, Luisamariana Mesones (Peru) (70-71) and Maria Serrano (Columbia) (70-71).

McCook had two steady rounds of 72 and 73.

In the men's championship at the same venue, Scots Euan Walker (71-72) and Calum Fyfe (67-78) are lying joint 19th and 27th on 143 and 145 respectively behind Canadian leader Chris Crisologo (72-64 for 136).
