LET Rookies Gather at La Sella Golf Resort & Spa in Spain

The Ladies European Tour’s Rookie Class of 2018 will spend four days getting schooled on everything from social media to finances this week at the annual Rookie Orientation, which returns to Hotel Dénia La Sella Golf Resort & Spa, in Alicante, Spain.

The program has been designed to help the new LET members transition into the world of professional golf and to make the journey as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Aside from learning life skills to complement their golfing talents, the players will also have the chance to play on La Sella’s highly acclaimed golf course, which is nestled next to the Montgó National Park of Dénia and designed by José María Olazábal in 1991.

Local player Natasha Fear from La Sella said: “I am very excited about my rookie year on the LET. I am looking forward to travelling to new places and to having the chance to develop my game further in 2018. I am also excited to meet some of the rookies this week, especially here at my home club La Sella. “I have been playing here from the age of 10 and they have always been very supportive so that makes this week even more special. I have watched the previous rookies come here to La Sella and it has inspired me to work hard to become one of them and be here.” Mara Bañó, Hotel Dénia La Sella Golf Resort & Spa, said: “Since we started hosting the LET Rookie Orientation four years ago, there have been two professionals from La Sella that have qualified to play on the LET. We are very proud of this, and we are also proud to offer our facilities and golf course and to be the venue where the rookies meet early in the year to get ready for the season. We look forward to following Natasha and the other rookies as they are starting off their professional career.”

The LET’s Director of Development, Mike Round, commented: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Hotel Dénia La Sella Golf Resort & Spa and thank the venue for their support of the next generation of talented female professional golfers. Since the first Rookie Orientation week in 2015, we have seen the impact of this valuable training in a variety of different ways. A better understanding of the sport as a profession will help the players to achieve and contribute more throughout their careers and the education and knowledge attained this week will help our young members to maximise their own and our organisation’s potential in future years.” About Hotel Dénia
