LAURA MURRAY'S MIXED BAG AT LET Q SCHOOL OPENER

Aberdeen-born Laura Murray had a mixed bag of one eagle, four birdies and five bogeys in compiling a one-under-par 71 in the first round of the Ladies European Tour Final Stage of 72 holes at Marrakesh, Morocco.

Murray, who is attached to Kippie Lodge Country Club, Milltimber near the Granite City, finished the day in joint 23rd place.

Playing at the Palm Golf course, she had an eagle 3 at the par-5 10th and birdies at the third, long fourth and seventh, and par-4 13th but the long-hitter had five bogeys which kept her five shots behind the pacemaker, Germany’s Luisa Dittrich who had an eagle and seven birdies in returning a six-under 66, also at the Palm Golf Course.

Scots Heather Stirling and Vikki Laing both finished on 1 over par 73
