CONNIE JAFFREY NOW SHARING SAN ANTONIO LEAD

Scottish women's amateur champion Connie Jaffrey from Kilwinning, a final-year student at Kansas State University, is sharing the lead with one round to go in the Mary Kauth Invitational college 54-hole tournament at Briggs Ranch Golf Club, San Antonio, Texas.
Connie followed up her opening round of six-under-par 66 with a one-under 71 which included four birdies on the inward half.
She shares the lead on seven-under-par 137 with Emmy Martin (Texas Christian University) who has scored 72-65.
Jaffrey bettered her season-low two-round tally by one stroke over a par-72 coure of 6,450yd.
Niamh McSherry, a freshman team-mate of Jaffrey, is T48 on 152 after rounds of 77 and 75.
Despite Jaffrey's good effort, Kansas State (588) are lying 12th of 14 behind the team leaders, Arkansas (554)


SURREY STUDENT LEADS LAS VEGAS SHOWDOWN

Elizabeth Prior from Surrey, a third-year student at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) is leading a field of 96 players by two strokes after 36 holes of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
She has had excellent scores of 67 and 66 for an 11-under-par tally of 133, two ahead of Southampton's Emma Allan (Missouri) (65-70) and Ingrid Gutierrez (New Mexico) (66-69.
Former Scottish champion Clara Young from North Berwick, a final-year student at Missouri University, is T10 on 140 with rounds of 68 and 72.

UNLV (555) lead the team event ahead of San Jose (562) and Missouri (563) in a field of 16.
