CLARA T6 AFTER TWO ROUNDS AT DALLAS


Former Scottish women's amateur champion Clara Young from North Berwick, a student at the University of Missouri, is the best placed of six British and Irish players in the current SMU Trinity Forest Invitation 54-hole women's college tournament at Trinity Forest Golf Club, Dallas in Texas.
Over a par-72 course of 6,372yd, Clara has had rounds of 70 and 75 to be in sixth place with one round to go, four shots behind the leader by two, Reid Isaac (Kansas State) (72-69)).
Clara had birdies at the first, eighth and 18th but she had more bogeys than in her first round: six in all.
Current Scottish champion Connie Jaffrey (Kansas State (74-76) and team-mate Niamh McSherry from Northern Ireland (75-75) are sharing 16th place on 150.
Recent winner Elizabeth Prior (UNLV) is T37 on 154 with scores of 79 and 75.
Emma Allen from Southampton a student at Missouri and Becky McGeehan (Texas-San Antonio) are sharing 57th place in a field of 69 competitors.
Emma has scored 83-76 and Becky 79-80 for 150.
For the coaches it is all about scoring team wins and Kansas State go into the final round in second place on 591, eight behind Houston.
Missouri (601) are T6, UNLV (616) 12th and UTSA (621) last of the 13 teams.
