GEMMA AND MICHELE MAKE AUSSIE CUT BUT CATRIONA FAILS

Aberdeen-born Gemma Dryburgh and Michele Thomson (Meldrum House) from Ellon are joint 20th on four-under-par 142 at the halfway stage of the Women's Australian Open golf championship at Royal Adelaide Golf Club.
Dryburgh moved up with a second-round 69, which included birdies at three par-5 holes, while Thomson slipped back with a 74 after taking 40 to the turn.
Catriona Matthew missed the cut by five shots with a 75 for 151. She birdied the third, fourth, fifth and 12th but bogeyed six holes.
Laura Davies (78 for 150) also missed the cut.
World No 1 Lydia Ko (NZ) made it with nothing to spare on 146 (71-75).
Aussie Sarah Jane Smith leads the field at nine-under 137 with rounds of 70 and 67.
The leading British player is Wales' Amy Boulden in joint ninth place with rounds of 72 and 68 for 140.
