ENGLAND GOLF CREATE FIVE NEW 72 HOLE EVENTS FOR WAGR POINTS

 
England Golf pair up 36-hole Opens to produce five four-round tournaments with World Amateur Golf Ranking Points at stake

England Golf are creating five "new" 72-hole women's open tournaments for the 2017 season. The object of the exercise is to give players more opportunities to earn World Amateur Golf Ranking points, which can only be earned in four-round events.

England Golf have taken 10 leading 36-hole women's open tournaments which are already in existence and paired them up. The five four-round events created in this way will have WAGR points at stake.

England Golf will run a leaderboard to show the overall results for the paired tournaments.

The five "new" 72-hole tournaments for 2017 are:

COMBOY LEVERET
The Comboy Scratch Open at Delamere Forest GC, Cheshire on March 26 AND The Leveret at Formby Ladies GC, Lancashire on April 1.

THE GOLD ROSE
Roehampton Gold Cup Opem at Roehampton GC, Surrey on May 23, AND the Hampshire Rose at North Hants GC, Hampshire on April 9.

CRITCHLEY ASTOR
The Critchley Salver Open at Sunningdale, Surrey on May 23, AND the Astor Salver at The Berkshire GC on June 7.

FRILFORD JACKSON
The Frilford Heath Scratch Open at Frilford Heath GC, Oxfordshire on June 2 AND The Jackson Bowl at Handsworth GC, Warwickshire on July 4.

BIRKDALE PUTTER
Pleasington Putter Open at Pleasington GC, Lancashire on July 12 AND the Royal Birkdale Scratch Open at Royal Birkdale GC, Lancashire on August 25.
