Carol Fell, Susan Simpson, Gordon Fell and Tegwen Matthews

Golf is a small world - Who would believe that your Kirkwood Editor Carol Fell had dinner in Cape Town on Friday with Susan Simpson - R&A Assistant Director - Amateur Events and the Winning 2012 Curtis Cup Captain Tegwen Matthews and of course her dear husband Gordon.

South Africans are filling the first four places after the second round of the Cape Town Ladies Open at Royal Cape Golf Club saw England's Rebecca Hudson and Lauren Taylor slide down the leaderboard.
Ashleigh Buhai retains the No 1 position with scores of 71 and 678 for a nine-under-par tally of 139 over the par-74 course. She leads by three from compatriot Lee-Anne Pace (74-68).

Hudson is sharing eighth place on 148 after a pair of 74s.
Taylor is also on 148 (72-76).

Kirsty Fisher, the only Scot on the field, survived the cut, but only just with rounds of 83 and 87 for 22-over-par 170.
