SCOT CLAIRE AND HUSBAND WIN NZ MIXED FOURSOMES AGAIN

Claire Hunter and Grant Dooley
Former Aberdeenshire champion Claire Hunter and husband Grant Dooley have won the New Zealand mixed foursomes championship for the second year in a row at Wanaka Golf Club, South Island.
They beat Simon and Anita Fraser 5 and 4 in the final today (Sunday).

Earlier in the tournament Claire and Grant scraped through at the 22nd hole against a local pairing, Andrew Aitkins and Nikki Shaw, after being two down at the turn.
They are only the second couple to retain the title in the history of the tournament.
Claire was a member of Hazlehead and Deeside Golf Clubs before she emigrated to New Zealand 10 years ago.
She was married to Grant Dooley, a Kiwi, in Aberdeen two years ago.

Claire was a teaching pro in her early days in New Zealand.

---  "I got my amateur status back 2 years ago which I really love. We now live in Auckland in a place called North Shore. I'm back to playing golf for me and have represented North Harbour Golf Club in a few events," said Claire who was Aberdeenshire champion in 1994 and North of Scotland champion in 1997. Both victories were scored at Murcar Links.

"I now work as a field consultant/Operational Excellence Manager in subway developments and the head office is in Auckland.
I work for a DA who develops subway stores to franchisees. I have 37 subway stores that I look after. Couldn't ask for a better job."
