Shannon McWilliam moves into top 10 at British stroke play

Aboyne teenager Shannon McWilliam had one of the better third rounds - a level par 73 - as the wind began to rise on the last day of the British women's open amateur stroke play championship at Knock Golf Club, Belfast.
Shannon has moved up to a share of 10th place on 225 - 10 strokes behind the 14-year-old leader from Italy, Alessia Nobilio, beaten semi-finalist in last month's British girls open amateur championship at Harlech and winner since then of the Belgian girls' international stroke-play title.
Nobilio shot a two-under-par 71 in the third round to go into the final 18 holes on four-under-par 215.
Only one player looks close enough to catch Alessia - 19-year-old Sophie Lamb (Clitheroe) who had a 72 for 217.
Moffat-based Gemma Batty, Annabel Wilson (Lurgan) and Alessia Cristin Avanzo are joint third on 222. Batty and Wilson shot 74s this morning, Avanzo a 75.
Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) had her best score yet, a one-under-par 72 to be tied 12th on 226.
Chloe Goadby (St Regulus) had a 75 for 232 and a share of 31st place.
Gabrielle Macdonald (Craigielaw) had a 79 for 239 and 38th place.
