Missouri's Jess Meek, Emma Allen down the field at Shoal Creek

Alice Hewson fails to make it to NCAA 

Championship

Curtis Cup team selection Alice Hewson (Clemson University) finished T20 with a total of 229 (77-75-77) - nine shots behind the three players who tied for individual victory on 220 at the NCAA Shoal Creek Regional, Alabama.
Scot Jess Meek from Carnoustie and Missouri team-mate Emma Allen, a freshman from Southampton, tied for 29th place on 231.
Meek scored 77, 78 and 76;  Allen 79, 74 and 78.
The six teams to advance to the NCAA Championship at Eugene, Oregon were:
887 Northwestern
905 Florida State
907 Oklahoma State
908 Alabama
912 Tennessee
916 Michigan

Non-qualifiers included:
929 Clemson (8th)
939 Missouri (12th of 18)

Hewson Named ACC Freshman of the Year

Alice Hewson (Clemson) from Berkhamsted has been named first-team all-conference and the ACC Freshman of the Year      She is the first Clemson women’s golfer to be named ACC Freshman of the Year.    
Hewson has the top stroke average on the team with a 73.11 figure and paced the team in top 10 finishes.
Two of Hewson’s top 10s were victories.  In the fall she was co-medallist at the Cougar Classic in Charleston and won the Furman Invitational in Greenville in her next event.  She is the only golfer in Clemson history, men or women, to win her first two tournaments.
One of just three freshmen on the All-ACC team, Hewson is ranked 74th on the women's national college circuit of the USA.

Mallett heading to NCAA Championship as member of North Carolina Univ team

Elizabeth Mallett (North Carolina), a final-year student from Sutton Coldfield tied for ninth place with a total of 215 (75-70-70) in the NCAA Stanford Regional tournament in California.
Elizabeth will be heading for the NCAA Championship at Eugene, Oregon later this month as a member of the fourth-placed Carolina team.
The leading six booked their place in the seasonal finale.

Alison Knowles from South Yorkshire, a student at Michigan State, tied for 42nd place on 224 with rounds of 76, 72 and 76.
Elizabeth Prior (UNLV) tied for 57th place with scores of 73, 75 and 80 for 228.
The six teams who qualified for the NCAA Championship at Eugene, Oregon later this month were:

875 Ohio State
878 North Carolina
879 Arkansas
883 Virginia
