Clackmannan title for sixth time

Louise Macgregor ( Falkirk), a finalist for each of the past seven years,  won the Stirling and Clackmannan women's county golf championship for  a sixth time at Tulliallan Golf Club tonight (Friday).
She beat Laura Bissett ( Braehead ) 2 and 1 the same result, the same score as last year's final when it was contested by the same players.
It was an excellent match. Laura went two up after five holes but Louise won the sixth and eighth to square the contest.
Macgregor took the lead after the turn and was two up after 14 holes. Bissett won the16th but Macgregor clinched yet another title by winning the 17th for a 2 and 1 triumph.
The only player to have beaten Macgregor in a final is former Curtis Cup player Alison Davidson (Stirling) in 2014. That was Davidson's seventh county championship, so Macgregor still has one title to go to equal that record.
Davidson did not play in this year's championship.

FINAL - L Macgregor (Falkirk) bt L Bissett (Braehead) 2 and 1.
