Craig Howie's tied 8th finish in US college 

tournament in California

Stirling University sent a five-man team to compete at The Prestige at PGA West tournament over the Greg Norman Course at PGA West, La Quinta, California.

They finished a creditable tied 7th in a field of 15 teams. Stirling's total of 863 while the winning total by Louisiana State University was 826, 18 ahead of runners-up Arizona State with San Diego State (848) third.
Louisiana State scored a double whammy because one of their team won the individual honours as well. Zach Wright had rounds of 68, 66 and 67 for a 12-under total of 201, two ahead of second-placed Ryann Ree (San Diego State) (68-66-69).
The 2012 Scottish boys champion,  Craig Howie, pictured, finished in tied 8th position with rounds of 72, 69 and 70 for 211.
Another Stirling student, Marco Iten, shot 215 for a T23 finish with rounds of 73, 69 an d73.
Chris McLean finished T26 on 216 with ronds of 77, 73 and 66 (great last round!)
Laird Shepherd had rounds of 75, 77 and 71 for T53 on 223.
Switzerland's Mathias Eggenberger, also a Stirling student, finished T67 with rounds of 76, 76 and 77 for 229.
A field of 81 players too part.
