Bronte (72) leads the Brits in South America

England's Bronte Law led the British challenge with a level par 72 for a share of seventh place in the first round of the South American women's amateur championship, supported by the R and A, at Lima, Peru today.
Bronte, a student in America,  trailed the leader, American Margaret Shirley, by two strokes.
Ireland's Olivia Mehaffey had a 73 for a T12 position going into Round 2.
Grantown on Spey's Hannah McCook and Meghan MacLaren (Wellingborough) are sharing 26th place on the 76 mark.
Chloe Goadby from St Andrews is T40 with a 79 while Chloe Williams from Wrexham had an 81 for joint 47th place.
Ireland's Chloe Ryan is T50 after an 84.
There are 53 players in the women's field
