McQueen and McKechin shoot 74s for share of 11th place in

first round of LET Q School Pre-qualifier B in Morocco

Scots Rachael McQueen and Alyson McKechin were tied for 11th place at the end of the first round of the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School pre-qualifier B eliminator at Mohammedia Golf Club, Morocco today.
They both shot two-over-par 74s to be four strokes behind the leader, Nuria Iturrios (Spain).
McQueen, a former Ayrshire county champion, was heading for a par round until she bogeyed the 13th and 18th in halves of 36-38.
Former Scottish women's amateur champion McKechin from Paisley birdied the second, 14th and 18th but her gaines were nullified by five bogeys, four of them over the first six holes ins halves of 39-35.
The third Scot in the field, Iona Stephen, playing as an amateur, returned an 86 (45-41) which included a triple bogey 8 at the ninth. She starts the second round in 59th place.
