Angus domination of the North Division in women's county golf continued at Murcar Links today when they won the title again by beating Aberdeenshire, the only other team with a 100 per cent record at the end of two days, 6-3.
Angus won the foursomes 3-0 but Aberdeenshire derived some consolation for holding the 2014 Scottish champions to a 3-3 draw in the final singles.
Angus's victory earns them another trip to the Scottish county finals, this year at Stranraer in September. They have won the national title twice in the past three years.
Angus topped the final North Division table with three wins for 6pt. Aberdeenshire finished runners-up with two wins for 4pt.
Northern Counties' 6-3 win over Perth and Kinross on the final day meant they finished third with 2pt ahead of pointless P and K
Secret of Angus's success is their strength in depth. Their most successful players at Murcar Links were Katie Reid and Heather Munro, both with 5pt out of 5.
They were well supported by Gillian Paton with 4.5 out of 5, and Ailsa Summers with 4 out of 5.
Ailsa lost her 100 per cent record in the final session of play, when she was beaten 6 and 4 by Rachel Polson, an outstanding result by the Aberdeenshire player.
