USA COLLEGE GOLF CIRCUIT NEWS, SCORES


BOLTON THIRD AT AMARILLO, TEXAS

James Bolton from Bury, a third-year student at Newman University, Wichita, Kansas, finished third in the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite college tournament over 54 holes at Tascosa Golf Club, Amarillo, Texas at the weekend.

Bolton, pictured, had rounds of 69, 69 and 71, finished two shots behind two players who tied for victory - Oscar Spolander (West Texas A and M) (68-68-71) and Jose Hernandez (St Edwards) (67-72-68) - on nine-under-par 207 over a 6,538yd par-72 course
Newman (869) finished ninth of 17 in the team event won by Wayland Baptist (847) 

BEN TAYLOR T5 AT SPIRIT HOLLOW

Ben Taylor from Leatherhead, Surrey, a final-year student at Louisiana State University, finished T5 in the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Spirit Hollow Golf Club, Burlington in Louisiana.

Ben, pictured, had rounds of 71, 72 and 70.
Louisiana State team-mate Stewart Jolly was the individual winner with a nine-under-par total (67-68-74) over a par-72 course of 7,22yd
Scot Eamon Bradley (Southeastern Louisiana) finished T34 on 226 (77-78-71). Bradley hails from Mount Ellen.
LSU had three players in the top five so, not surprisingly, they won the team title by an 11-shot margin from Southern Methodist (860).
SE Louisiana (885 tied for fourth in a field of 12 teams.
