EWAN SCOTT JUST OUTSIDE TOP 20
IN FIELD OF 100 AT NORTH CAROLINA
Ewan Scott from St Andrews, the 2013 Scottish youths champion, finished joint 23rd in a big field of 100 competitors at the Tar Heels Intercolleagie over the University of North Carolina Finley course (par 72, 7242yd).
Scott, pictured, a third year student at Tennessee-Chattanooga, shot 68, 73 and 74 for one-over 217.
Keagan Cummings, a Dublin-born third-year student at North Carolina, tied for 14th place on two-under 214 (69-70-75)
Scot Liam Johnston, from Dumfries, a final-year student at Tennessee-Chattanooga finished T46 on 221 with deteriorating scores of 72, 74 and 75.
The winner was Ben Griffin (North Carolina) with an excellent 109-under--par 206 total,l made up of rounds of 67, 69 and 70.
North Carolina scored a double whammy as they also won the team honours by 23 shots.
