TOP SEEDS MAKE PROGRESS TO SEMI-FINALS 
IN RENFREWSHIRE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP  
Defending champion Donna Jackson, playing over her home course, and top seed Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) are on course to meet in Friday's final of the Renfrewshire women's county championship at Cochrane Castle. 
The
 top qualifiers had comfortable wins in the first round matches. Liz Hale 
had a close match with Donna Jackson, who has won the county title a record number of times, and junior 
Jennifer Rankine gave a very creditable performance against the 
experienced Iona Stephen.
The
 afternoon matches saw Eilidh, Liz and Iona all ease through to the 
semi-finals but Donna had a harder match with Gillian Kyle.
In the round of the last four it will be Briggs v Stewart and Jackson v Stephen.
