IRISH SENIORS LEAD SCOTS VETS

I'm at Donabate near Dublin... Mary McKenna's home course .. for the annual match between SVLGA and the Irish Senior ladies.

The Scottish Vets were in a good position at the halfway stage with all matches either up or square.  With just three holes to go we were also doing Ok with the top match 1up, second and third all square and the last match in the bag.  
However Ireland gritted their teeth and in the first match won 16 and 17 and managed to halve the par 5 18th in six to win in front of the clubhouse. 
 The second match also came to the last where Violet McBride holed a 20 foot putt for a one hole victory.  Scotland's third couple of May Hughes and Anne Ryan lost at the 17th,  and it was left to Alison Bartlett and Alex Glennie to bring in Scotland's only point with a 4&3 victory.
